What is Disaster Ready Kane?
Disaster Ready Kane (DRK) is a Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) for Kane County. A COAD is a network of organizations that collaborate to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters together. Rather than organizations working separately, a COAD creates a coordinated system where partners share information, resources, and expertise to meet community needs more effectively.
This coordination helps ensure that when a crisis occurs—whether it’s severe weather, flooding, a public health emergency, or another major disruption—our community can respond quickly and support residents throughout the recovery process.
